4-{4-[4-Carbamoyl-2-(7-trifluoromethyl-1H-indol-4-yl)-oxazol-5-yl]-phenyl}-2,2-dimethyl-piperazine-1-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester (0.18 g crude) was dissolved in a mixture of DCM and TFA (30 mL 2:1), and the solution was stirred at RT for 2 hrs, when the solvent was removed in vacuo. The residue was partitioned between water and EtOAc. The organic phase was dried over Na2SO4 and the solvent was removed in vacuo to give the crude product which was purified by prep-HPLC to give the title compound (60 mg, 41% from ethyl 5-(4-(4-(tert-butoxycarbonyl)-3,3-dimethylpiperazin-1-yl)phenyl)-2-iodooxazole-4-carboxylate).
