Raney®-Nickel (0.7 g) was added to a solution of N6-(5-chloro-2-methoxypyridin-3-yl)-N2-[(1S)-1-(5-fluoropyridin-2-yl)ethyl]-3-methyl-5-nitropyridine-2,6-diamine (Preparation 25b, 0.67 g, 1.56 mmol) in ethanol (15 mL) and the resulting mixture was stirred at ambient temperature for 2 hours under a hydrogen atmosphere. The mixture was then filtered through Celite® and the filter cake was washed with methanol (30 mL). The combined filtrate and washings containing the title compound as a methanolic solution were concentrated under reduced pressure to half of their volume and were used in the next synthetic step without further purification.
