To a solution of 338 (2.10 g, 5.54 mmol) and N-(methoxymethyl)-N-(trimethylsilylmethyl)benzylamine (1.98 mL, 7.75 mmol) dissolved in toluene (25 mL) and cooled to 0° C. A solution of TFA (0.0427 mL, 0.554 mmol) and benzene (1 mL) was added slowly over 15 min and the mixture was stirred for 4 h. The mixture was washed sequentially with satd. aq. NaHCO3, twice with water, dried, filtered and evaporated. The crude residue was purified by SiO2 chromatography eluting with an EtOAc/hexane gradient (20-40% EtOAc) to afford 1.62 g (57.1%) of (R)-3-((3S,4R)-1-benzyl-4-(3-fluoro-4-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl)pyrrolidine-3-carbonyl)-4-phenyloxazolidin-2-one (340) as white foamy solid.
