A suspension of 4-(4-Bromo-phenoxy)-phenol (7.0 g, 26 mmol), and 5-(4,4,5,5-Tetramethyl-[1,3,2]dioxaborolan-2-yl)-1-(2-trimethylsilanyl-ethoxymethyl)-1H-pyrazole (9.4 g, 39 mmol) in a mixture of DME (120 mL) and 2N aqueous Na2CO3 (33 mL) is sparged with Argon for 30 minutes. Tetrakis(triphenylphosphine)palladium(0) (1.5 g, 1.3 mmol) is added to the mixture, and the mixture is heated to 100° C. After 16 hours, the mixture is cooled to room temperature and poured into water/EtOAc. The organic layer is collected, and the aqueous layer is extracted twice with EtOAc. The combined organic layers are washed with brine, dried over Na2SO4, filtered and concentrated. The residue is purified on SiO2 (EtOAc/heptanes) to provide Intermediate A.
