To a solution of 1-(4-(4-(4-(methylthio)-7H-pyrrolo[2,3-d]pyrimidin-2-ylamino)phenyl)piperazin-1-yl)ethanone (451 mg, 1.18 mmol) in CH2Cl2 (12 mL), mCPBA (320 mg, 65%, 1.20 mmol) was added. The mixture was stirred at room temperature for 1 h. It was then concentrated in vacuo, the residue was purified by HPLC to give 1-(4-(4-(4-(methylsulfinyl)-7H-pyrrolo[2,3-d]pyrimidin-2-ylamino)phenyl)piperazin-1-yl)ethanone as a solid (136 mg).
