To a mixture of N-benzyl-2-chloro-5-iodo-7-tosyl-7H-pyrrolo[2,3-d]pyrimidin-4-amine (300 mg, 0.557 mmol), pyridine-4-boronic acid (137 mg, 1.11 mmol) and Pd(Ph3P)2Cl2 (40 mg, 0.042 mmol) in dioxane (3 mL), aq. Na2CO3 (120 mg, 1.13 mmol) (1.0 mL) was added. The mixture was stirred at 100° C. for 4 h. It was concentrated in vacuo. The residue was purified by HPLC to give N-benzyl-2-chloro-5-(pyridin-4-yl)-7-tosyl-7H-pyrrolo[2,3-d]pyrimidin-4-amine (27 mg).
