A solution of 4-(2-{4-[5-(4-Fluoro-phenyl)-4-(2,2,2-trifluoro-ethoxymethyl)-oxazol-2-yl]-piperidin-1-yl}-ethyl)-benzyl azide (2.25 g, 4.3 mmol), prepared as in Part B, in EtOH (80 mL) is treated with 10% Pd/C (400 mg) and hydrogenated at 50 psi for 12 h. The catalyst is removed by filtration through celite, and the solvent evaporated to afford the title compound as off-white solids, which is used in subsequent reactions without purification.
