Following general procedure I and using 4-[ethyl-(3,3-dimethyl-7-isopropyl-2,3-dihydro-benzofuran-5-yl)-amino]-benzoic acid ethyl ester (Compound 24, 0.045 g, 0.117 mmol) and 2 mL of 5M potassium hydroxide solution in 20 mL of ethanol, the title compound (0.038 g, 86%) was obtained as a white solid. 1H NMR (300 MHz, CDCl3): δ 7.80 (d, 2H, J=9.0 Hz), 6.74 (d, 1H, J=2.1 Hz), 6.67 (d, 1H, J=2.1 Hz), 6.50 (d, 2H, J=9.0 Hz), 4.21 (s, 2H), 3.66 (q, 2H, J=7.2 Hz), 3.01 (heptet, 1H J=7.0 Hz), 1.26 (s, 6H), 1.18 (t, 3H J=7.2 Hz), 1.16 (d, 6H, J=7.0 Hz).
