2.3 g of 7-hydroxy-3,4-dimethylcoumarin were dissolved in 50 ml of pyridine, and 4.7 g of benzenesulfonyl chloride were added at 20° C. The mixture was stirred overnight and then poured onto 200 g of ice, and the precipitate was filtered off under suction, washed with water, recrystallized from ethanol and dried. Yield: 3.3 g (83%), mp.: 177°-178° C.
