Procedure
(3R)-3-Mercaptoquinuclidine may be obtained in a manner similar to that described in Example 2, but starting with (3R)-3-(acetylthio)quinuclidine (32.5 g) and 10N aqueous sodium hydroxide solution (35 cc); (3R)-3-mercaptoquinuclidine (11.5 g) is obtained in the form of white crystals which melt at 45° C. and distil at 90° C. under 830 Pa (αD20 =+121°, C=1.1, methanol).
