Reaction Steps
In a manner similar to Example 4(c), by reaction of 3 g (12.9 mmol) of 5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-5,5,8,8-tetramethyl-2-naphthoic acid with 2.65 g (12.9 mmol) of allyl 4-(1-hydroxyethyl)benzoate, 2.8 g (52%) of the expected allyl ester are obtained in the form of a slightly yellow oil.
