The product of step d) (0.21 g, 0.34 mmol), zink powder (0.23 g, 3.44 mmol) and cadmium(II) chloride (0.020 g, 0.086 mmol) was suspended in DMF (4 ml) and acetic acid (4 ml). The suspension was stirred for 1 hour at room temperature, ethyl acetate (10 ml) and water (20 ml) were added and the phases separated. The organic phase was washed with water (3×5 ml), dried over Na2SO4. Solvent removal followed by chromatographic purification on silica, eluting with ethyl acetate, gave the sub-title product (0.12 g, 81%) as a colourless solid.
