4-[5-(1-Cyclohexenyl)-3-(difluromethyl)-1H-pyrazol-1-yl]benzenesulfonamide (Example 142) (0.31 g, 0.88 mmol) was dissolved in ethanol (15 mL), 10% palladium on charcoal was added, and the suspension was stirred at room temperature under hydrogen (36 psi) for 18.25 hours. The reaction was filtered through celite, and the ethanol removed in vacuo to give a white solid, which was recrystallized from methylene chloride/isooctane (0.31 g, 99%): mp 199-203° C.; 1H NMR (acetone-d6) 300 MHz 8.05 (d, J=8.7 Hz, 2H), 7.60 (d, J=8.5 Hz, 2H), 6.69 (t, J=55.0 Hz 1 H), 6.47 (s, 1H), 5.02 (br s, 2H), 2.67 (m, 1H), 1.71-1.88 (m, 5H), 1.24-1.43 (m, 5H); 19F NMR ( acetone-d6) 300 MHz: −112.86 (d).
