Reaction Steps
To a solution of the pyrazole prepared in Example 175 (0.15 g, 0.42 mmol) in CH2Cl2 (10 mL) was added an excess of sulfuryl chloride slowly at room temperature. The mixture was stirred at room temperature for 2 hours, quenched with water and the aqueous layer extracted three time with methylene chloride. The combined organic layers were dried over MgSO4 and concentrated to give an oil which was purified by flash chromatography on silica gel using 70:30 hexane/ethyl acetate as eluent to give the desired compound: HRMS m/z 380.0970 (calc'd for C19H20ClN3SO2, 389.0965).
