Reaction Steps
Using General Procedure 1; a solution of methyl {4-[4-(1-ethoxycyclopropyl)-3-tert-butyl-phenylethynyl]-phenyl}-acetate (Compound 104, 100.0 mg, 0.26 mmol) in ethanol (4 mL) and tetrahydrofuran (4 mL) was treated with NaOH (240.0 mg, 6.0 mmols, 3.0 mL of a 2N aqueous solution) and stirred at 50° C. for 4 h. Work-up and isolation by HPLC (Partisil 10-pac, 10% H2O/CH3CN) afforded 70.0 mg (73%) of the title compound.
