Reaction Steps

A mixture of 3-[3-{benzenesulfonyl-[3-(3,5-dichlorophenyl)-allyl]-amino}-methyl)-phenyl]-propionic acid methyl ester of Step A (237 mg), PtO2 (30 mg), and MeOH was hydrogenated on a Parr shaker at 50 psi for 2 h. The catalyst was removed by filtration through Celite and the volatiles were removed in vacuo to provide the title compound (240 mg). 1H NMR (400 MHz, CDCl3) δ 7.82 (d, 2H), 7.76-7.50 (m, 3H), 7.23 (m, 1H), 7.07 (m, 4H), 6.74 (s, 2H), 4.26 (s, 2H), 3.64 (s, 3H), 3.09 (t, 2H), 2.90 (t, 2H), 2.56 (t, 2H), 2.37 (t, 2H), 1.56 (m, 2H).
