Procedure
To a suspension of 2-[(S)-1-phenylethylamino]-4-[benzimidazol-1-yl]-6-chloropyrimidine (EXAMPLE 306 Step B) (34.5 mg, 0.098 mmol) in methanol (1 mL) was added sodium methoxide (56 μL, 25 wt. % in MeOH) dropwise. The mixture was heated at 60° C. for 2 h (the mixture became homogeneous), then was cooled and the solvent was removed under reduced pressure. The crude mixture was purified by flash chromatography using 1:4 EtOAc:hexane system to give 26 mg of the title compound. Mass spectrum 346.0 (CI, M+1).
