0.85 g (4 mmols) of 3,5-dichloro-1-methylpyrazole-4-carboxylic acid chloride and 1.32 g (4 mmols) of diethyl {2-(1-methylcyclohexan-1-yl)-thiazol-4-yl}methylphosphonate were dissolved in 15 ml of dry tetrahydrofuran, and 1.12 g (10 mmols) of potassium t-butoxide was added thereto at room temperature. The reaction mixture was stirred for 1 hour at room temperature, and 20 ml of water was added thereto, and extracted with ethyl acetate. The organic layer was washed with water and saturated saline, and dried over anhydrous magnesium sulfate, and the solvent was distilled off under reduced pressure. The obtained residue was purified through silica gel column chromatography to obtain 0.4 g of the intended 1-(3,5-dichloro-1-methylpyrazol-4-yl)-2-{2-(1-methylcyclohexan-1-yl)-thiazol-4-yl}-2-diethylphosphonoethanone.
