In a similar manner to that described in Example (2-2b), a reaction was carried out using 5-{4-[1-methyl-6-(4-trifluoromethylphenoxy)-1H-benzimidazole-2-ylmethoxy]benzyl}thiazolidine-2,4-dione (0.58 g) and 4N hydrogen chloride/ethyl acetate (20 ml) and the reaction mixture was purified to give the title compound (0.55 g).
