Procedure
To a solution of 5-bromo-6-chloro-3-(1-BOC-2-(R)-pyrrolidinylmethoxy)pyridine from Example 69a (520 mg, 1.33 mmol) and 3-aminophenylboronic acid (310 mg, 2.0 mmol) in toluene (8 mL) was added Pd(0) (50 mg) and Na2CO3 (2.5 mL of a 2 M solution), and the mixture was heated at reflux for 16 hours. The solvent was removed under vacuum, and the residue was purified by chromatography on a silica gel column, eluting with CHCl3:Et2O 100:5-100:40 to afford 160 mg of the title compound. MS (CI/NH3) m/z 404 (M+H)+. 1H NMR (CDCl3, 300 MHz) δ 1.44 (s, 9H), 1.88 (m, 1H), 2.03 (m, 2H), 3.37 (m, 2H), 3.76 (m, 2H), 4.16 (m, 2H), 6.75 (m, 2H), 6.82 (m, 1H), 7.22 (m, 2H), 8.08 (m, 1H).
