Procedure

To a solution of ethyl (±)-4-{2-{3-{[2-(4,5-diphenyloxazol-2-yl)-2-cyclohexen-1-yl]methyl}-benzoylamino}ethyl}phenoxyacetate (115 mg, 0.18 mmol) in MeOH-1,4-dioxane (1:1, 4 ml) was added 1N sodium hydroxide solution (0.18 ml, 0.18 mmol) at 5° C. and the mixture was stirred at room temperature for 2 hours. The reaction mixture was evaporated and Et2O was added thereto. The resulting solid was collected by filtration to give sodium (±)-4-{2-{3-{[2-(4,5-diphenyloxazol-2-yl)-2-cyclohexen-1-yl]methyl}-benzoylamino}ethyl}phenoxyacetate (105.0 mg, 92%).
