Under argon 1.08 g (6.00 mmol) of a solution of sodium methoxide (30 per cent in methanol) were admixed with 15 ml of abs. methanol and 1.83 g (6.00 mmol) of 1-(2-fluorobenzyl)indazol-3-amidinium chloride from Example X. The mixture was stirred at room temperature for 5 minutes, after which 816 mg (6.00 mmol) of 2-cyclopropyl-3-dimethylaminoacrylonitrile from Example II were added, and the mixture was heated under reflux overnight. After cooling to room temperature, the precipitate was filtered off with suction and stirred in pentane. Once more, the precipitate was filtered off with suction and dried under high vacuum, giving the product in the form of a virtually white solid.
