1.6 gm (0.02 mol) of diketene were slowly poured, while stirring, into a solution of 3.6 gm (0.01 mol) of 8-methylthio-2-piperazino-4-thiomorpholino-pyrimido-[5,4-d]-pyrimidine (m.p.: 177°-179° C.) in 50 ml of dioxane. After stirring for 30 minutes more, the solvent was evaporated in vacuo, and the residue was taken up in about 100 ml of water. The precipitated reaction product was suction-filtered off, washed with water and dried.
