Reaction Steps
A mixture of 25 parts of 1-[(4-fluorophenyl)methyl]-2-[[1-(2-isothiocyanatoethyl)-4-piperidinyl]methyl]-1H-benzimidazole and 160 parts of methanol saturated with ammonia was stirred overnight at room temperature. The reaction mixture was evaporated, yielding 25 parts (100%) of N-[2-[4-[[1-[(4-fluorophenyl)methyl]-1H-benzimidazol-2-yl]methyl]-1-piperidinyl]ethyl]thiourea (449).
