Procedure

26.1 g (0.145 mol) of 30% strength sodium methylate were added to 31.0 g (0.145 mol) of 2-amino-4-chlorodifluoromethoxy-6-fluoropyrimidine in 300 ml of methanol in the course of 15 minutes while stirring at from -10° to 0° C. Stirring was continued for 30 minutes at 0° C. and for 1 hour at 25° C. The reaction mixture was evaporated down under reduced pressure and worked up as above. 31.6 g (96.6% of theory) of the title compound were obtained as a colorless oil of nD2 =1.5039.
