Procedure

4.7 g (0.026 mol) of 30% strength sodium methylate were added to 6.0 g (0.0263 mol) of 4-chlorodifluoromethoxy-6-fluoro-2-methylaminopyrimidine in 100 ml of methanol in the course of 10 minutes while stirring at 0° C. Stirring was continued for 1 hour at 0° C. and for 1 hour at 25° C. Conventional working up gave 6.3 g (100% of theory) of the title compound of melting point 49°-53° C.
