With the 21-(acetylthio) compound of Example 3 and methanesulfonic acid as starting materials, (2β,3α,5α)-21-(acetylthio)-3-hydroxy-2-(2,2-dimethyl-4-morpholinyl)pregnane-11,20-dione methanesulfonate (1:1) salt was formed. [α]D +110° (c 0.8).
