Reaction Steps

The title compound was prepared by refluxing cis 1-[4-(4-fluorophenyl)-1-cyclohexyl]piperazine (0.35 g, 1.3 mmole) and 2-chlorobenzyl chloride (0.21 g, 1.3 mmole) in acetonitrile with excess potassium carbonate for 18 hr. The solvent was removed in vacuo and the crude material recrystallized from 2-propyl acetate to give the product (85%, mp: 86°-87° C.). Calc'd for C23H28ClFN2.0.4H2O: C, 70.09%; H, 7.37%; N, 7.11%. Found: C, 70.12%; H, 7.52%; N, 7.07%.
