The title compound (1.1 g, 30%) was prepared from 1-iodo-4-phenoxy-benzene (2.9 g, 10 mmol) and piperidin-4-yl-carbamic acid tert-butyl ester (2 g, 10 mmol) by the procedure described in step 1 of Example 4: MS (ESI) m/z 368 (M+H); 1H NMR (400 MHz, CDCl3) δ 1.46 (s, 9H), 1.51-1.61 (m, 3H), 2.05 (br, 2H), 2.81 (dd, J=1.6, 12 Hz, 2H), 3.52 (m, 2H), 3.60 (br, 1H), 4.47 (br, 1H), 6.90-6.96 (m, 6H), 7.03 (m, 1H), 7.28 (m, 2).
