2-(4-dimethylamino-4-phenylcyclohexylidene)-1-[4-(1H-indol-3-yl)-piperidine-1-yl]ethanone (344 mg, 0.779 mmole) was dissolved in ethyl methyl ketone (10 ml) and chlorotrimethylsilane (0.15 ml, 1.2 mmole) was added. After 45 minutes the hydrochloride was isolated as a beige-coloured solid with an m.p. of 178-180° C. in a yield of 65% (242 mg) (Example 26).
