Procedure

To a solution of tert-butyl({6-[(biphenyl-4-ylmethyl)(pyridin-3-ylsulfonyl)aminomethyl]pyridin-2-yl}tert-butoxycarbonylamino)acetate (931 mg, 1.44 mmol) obtained in Example 6-(a) in methylene chloride (14.4 ml) was added a 4N hydrogen chloride/1,4-dioxane solution (7.2 ml), and the mixture was left at room temperature for 16 hours. Further, it was stirred at 50° C. for 2 hours. After completion of the reaction, the reaction solution was concentrated under reduced pressure, followed by addition of methylene chloride to the residue, and a precipitated solid was collected by filtration. The resulting solid was dried under reduced pressure at room temperature to afford the title compound (760 mg) as a white solid. (Yield: 94%)
