Procedure

3.0 g (10.55 mmol) 3-(2-methoxybenzyl)-3,4-dihydroquinazolin-2(1H)-thione was dissolved in 40 mL dichloromethane, 1.31 mL CH3I was added and stirred for approx. 12 hours at room temperature. The reaction mixture was evaporated until dry and the resulting residue was stirred with a mixture of n-pentane/diethyl ether; 3.1 g white solids.
