To a solution of 38 (0.301 g, 0.84 mmol) in MeOH (10 mL) was added 1N NaOH solution (1.7 mL, 1.7 mmol). The reaction was stirred at room temperature for 2 hours and solvent was evaporated. The residue was dissolved in EtOAc and washed with 0.5N NaHSO4 (2×) and brine and was dried over anhydrous Na2SO4, filtered and evaporated to give the title compound as a yellow solid (0.277 g, quantitative).
