Reaction Steps

Starting from 9-octadecenoyl chloride (15 g) and 2,2-dimethyl-1,3-dioxane-4,6-dione (8 g), 5-(1-hydroxy-9-octadecenylidene)-2,2-dimethyl-1,3-dioxane-4,6-dione (18 g) was obtained as an oil according to similar manner to that of Preparation A-2 (1).
