The reduction of 84 mg (0.28 mmol) of 1-(2,3-dihydro-benzo[1,4]dioxin-2-ylmethyl)-3-methyl-pyrrolidine-3-carboxylic acid methyl ester with 20 mg (0.53 mmol) of LiAlH4 was performed using the procedure described above. Purification by column chromatography (silica gel, methanol/triethylamine/dichloromethane, 1:1:99) yielded the desired pure alcohol.
