A mixture of N-{2-[4-(methyloxy)phenyl]-2-oxoethyl}-4-(phenylmethyl)-2-morpholinecarboxamide (2.5 g, 6.79 mmol) and ammonium trifluoroacetate (4.45 g, 33.9 mmol) was stirred for 2.5 hours at 150° C. Water (150 mL) was added to the residue, and the aqueous mixture was extracted with EtOAc (3×80 mL). The combined organic phases were dried (Na2SO4), filtered, and concentrated to afford the title compound (2.3 g) as a brown solid. LC-MS (ES) m/z=350 [M+H]+.
