Procedure

0.72 g of (6-Hydroxy-bicyclo[3.3.1]non-2-yl)-carbamic acid benzyl ester (101) were dissolved in 50 mL of methanol and 97 mg of palladium on charcoal (10%) were added. The mixture was stirred under a hydrogen atmosphere until conversion was complete. The catalyst was filtered off and the organic layer was evaporated to dryness to give 407 mg of the desired product. Rt=0.17 min (Method C). Detected mass: 156.2 (M+H+).
