Procedure

5-(2-Methoxybenzyl)-2-methylthio-4-pyrimidone (2.00 g) was reacted with 2-(5-methyl-4-imidazolylmethylthio)ethylamine (1.37 g) by the procedure of Example 1(ii) to give 2-[2-(5-methyl-4-imidazolylmethylthio)ethylamino]-5-(2-methoxybenzyl)-4-pyrimidone, m.p. 163°-167° C. (ex. ethanol).
