Reaction Steps
To a solution of the compound (100 mg) obtained from step 1 above in methanol (2 ml) at −10° C. to −2° C. was added sodium borohydride (9 mg) and stirred the mixture for 40 minutes at the same temperature. The solvent was evaporated under reduced pressure and the residue thus obtained was quenched with saturated solution of ammonium chloride and extracted with ethyl acetate. The combined organic layers were washed with water and brine, dried over anhydrous sodium sulphate and concentrated under reduced pressure. The residue thus obtained was purified by column chromatography using 5% methanol in dichloromethane as eluant to furnish the title compound (80 mg).
