To a solution of N-(7-formyl-3-(4-isopropylphenyl)-4,6-dimethyl-2,3-dihydro-1-benzofuran-5-yl)-3,3-dimethylbutanamide (370 mg, 0.91 mmol) obtained in Example 20 in methanol (5 mL) was added sodium borohydride (34 mg, 0.91 mmol) at room temperature and the mixture was stirred for 1 hour. The reaction solution was concentrated under reduced pressure and the residue was extracted with ethyl acetate. The organic layer was washed with water, dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate, and concentrated under reduced pressure. The obtained residue was recrystallized from ethyl acetate-hexane to obtain 290 mg (yield: 78%) of the title compound. Melting point: 274-275° C.
