1 M aqueous NaOH solution (50 μL) is added to a solution of methyl 2-((S)-6-((R)-4-(2,6-dimethyl-4-(3-(methylsulfonyl)propyl)phenyl)-7-fluoro-2,3-dihydro-1H-inden-1-yloxy)-2,3-dihydrobenzofuran-3-yl)acetate (20 mg) in methanol (2 mL). The mixture is stirred at room temperature for 12 hours and at 50° C. for 2 days. 1 M aqueous NaOH solution (18 μL) is added and the mixture is stirred at 50° C. for 2 hours. Methanol is evaporated in vacuo, the residue is diluted with water and neutralized with 1 M aqueous HCl. The resulting mixture is extracted with ethyl acetate, and the organic phase is dried (MgSO4). The solvent is evaporated and the residue is purified by HPLC on reversed phase to give the title compound. Yield: 7 mg; LC (method 8): tR=0.34 min; Mass spectrum (ESI+): m/z=553 [M+H]+.
