In a manner similar to [9-(2,2-dimethyl-propyl)-8-oxo-3,6,7,8,9,10-hexahydro-2,3,9-triaza-(R)-cyclohepta[e]inden-7-yl]-carbamic acid benzyl ester, the title compound was prepared by treating 2-benzyloxycarbonylamino-3-(4-chloromethyl-1H-indazol-5-yl)-propionic acid methyl ester, hydrochloride with isobutylamine followed by treatment with acetic acid in refluxing toluene to give (9-Isobutyl-8-oxo-3,6,7,8,9, 10-hexahydro-2,3,9-triaza-cyclohepta[e]inden-7-yl)-carbamic acid benzyl ester in 91% yield. MS (ESI) 407 (M+H); Rf=1.58.
