The title compound is prepared using the method of part B of Example 16 subtituting 4-acetoxy-4'-methoxy-1,1'-biphenyl for α-methyl-4'-(methoxy)[1,1'biphenyl]-4-acetic acid, ethyl ester. Normal workup affords a white solid, m.p. 204°-207° C.; MS (EI m/z): 212 (M)+, 197 (b.p.,M-CH3)+.
