A solution of 5-(4,4,5,5-tetramethyl-1,3,2-dioxaborolan-2-yl)-1-benzofuran (56 mg, 0.23 mmol) in EtOH (1.65 ml) was added to a solution of 3-iodo-1-isopropyl-1H-pyrazolo[3,4-d]pyrimidin-4-amine (30 mg, 0.1 mmol) in DME (6 ml). Pd(PPh3)4 (30 mg, 0.03 mmol) and saturated Na2CO3 (0.95 ml) were added and the reaction was heated to 80° C. under an argon atmosphere overnight. After cooling, the reaction was extracted with saturated NaCl and CH2Cl2. Organic phases were combined, concentrated in vacuo and purified by RP-HPLC (MeCN:H2O:0.1% TFA) to yield BA96 (19 mg, 72% yield). ESI-MS (M+H)+ m/z calcd 296.1, found 296.1.
