Procedure

A solution of 5-fluoro-3-chlorosulfonyl-1-(toluene-4-sulfonyl)indole (2.52 g) in DCM (75 mL) is added to an aqueous solution of dimethylamine (40%, 20 mL) in water (50 mL) and stirred at rt for 20 h. The organic phase is separated, washed with water, brine, dried (MgSO4), filtered and concentrated in vacuo to afford 5-fluoro-1-(toluene-4-sulfonyl)-1H-indole-3-sulphonic acid dimethylamide (2.55 g, 99%) as a solid. MS: 397 (M+H).
