Procedure

A suspended solution of 2-(3-fluoro-phenyl)-4-methyl-pyrimidine-5-carboxylic acid (2,3-dihydro-indol-1-yl)-amide (0.72 mmol) and MnO2 (3.60 mmol) in DCM (10 mL) is stirred at rt for 40 min. The reaction mixture is filtered and the filtrate is concentrated in vacuo. The residue is purified by silica gel chromatography eluting with 0-40% EtOAc in heptane to afford 2-(3-fluoro-phenyl)-4-methyl-pyrimidine-5-carboxylic acid indol-1-ylamide (185 mg, 75%) as a solid. MS: 347 (M+H); 1H NMR (300 MHz, CDCl3): δ 2.73 (s, 3H), 6.53 (s, H), 7.03 (d, H), 7.08-7.36 (m, 4H), 7.37-7.75 (m, 2H), 8.04-8.40 (m, 2H), 8.56 (br, H), 8.81 (br, H). IC50=10 nM.
