5-Bromo-2-chloro-benzenesulfonyl chloride (1.0 g, 3.45 mmol) (Intermediate E, Step 1) and pyridine (2 ml) are added to a stirred suspension of trans-4-aminocyclohexanol (2.0 g, 17.2 mmol) suspended in DCM (20 ml). After 18 h, the solvents are removed and the residue is partitioned between aq. 1M HCl and ethyl acetate. The organic extract is dried over Mg2SO4 and the solvent is removed. The residue is purified by chromatography on silica, eluting with ethyl acetate:hexane (1:1 to 1:0) to give the title compound.
