Reaction Steps
A solution of tert-butyl 4-oxocyclohexylcarbamate (10 g, 0.046 mol) in 1,1-dimethoxy-N,N-dimethylmethanamine (50 mL) was heated at 100° C. for 15 hours. 1,1-dimethoxy-N,N-dimethylmethanamine was then removed under reduced pressure. The crude desired product, (E)-tert-butyl 3-((dimethylamino)methylene)-4-oxocyclohexylcarbamate obtained as an oil was used in the next reaction without any purification. LCMS [M+H}: 269.
