Reaction Steps

2-Methyl-2-(4-{2-[2-(2,2,2-trifluoro-ethyl)-2H-[1,2,4]triazol-3-yl]-4,5-dihydro-6-oxa-3-thia-1-aza-benzo[e]azulen-8-yl}-pyrazol-1-yl)-propionic acid (0.250 g, 0.000496 mol) in dry tetrahydrofuran (1.0 mL, 0.012 mol) cooled to 0° C. Lithium tetrahydroaluminate (1M solution in THF, 1.0 mL, 0.0010 mol), was added dropwise at 0° C. and the mixture was allowed to warm to room temperature and stirred for 2 h. The reaction was quenched with saturated Na2SO4 until no more hydrogen evolution was observed. MgSO4 was added and the solution was filtered and rinsed with copious amounts of methylene chloride. The solvent was removed in vacuo and the crude material was purified by reverse-phase HPLC to give 332 (35.4 mg) as a colorless solid. MS (ESI+) 491.1.
