5-nitro-2-(3-piperidin-1-yl-propoxy)pyrimidine (100 mg, 0.38 mmol) was dissolved in a mixed solvent of methanol (2 mL) and distilled water (2 mL), sodium dithionite (Na2S2O4) (655 mg) was added, and the mixture stirred for 30 minutes at room temperature. The solvent was distilled off under reduced pressure, methanol was added to the residue, and the precipitate was filtered off. The filtrate was concentrated, and the target compound (60 mg, 68%) was obtained as a yellow oily residue.
